v1.0.0-rc.3 "Bold Ridge"
In developmentRelease date TBCChanges since rc.2
Bold Ridge brings the Catholic Calendar into the Dashboard Home and adds compact controls for its Academic Website integration and layout stress testing.
Catholic Calendar
- The Dashboard Home now gives the Catholic Calendar its own compact section using the standalone Calendar’s composed display style.
- Compact controls let the Academic Website turn its Calendar feature on or off and independently test unusually long displays.
Public integration
- Both Calendar controls are available through the Academic API without exposing private Dashboard settings.
- Home is less repetitive after removing four summary mini-cards, and Teaching season now uses the same compact On/Off control style.
v1.0.0-rc.2 "Rustic Peak"
Previous release candidate5 Oct 2026Changes since rc.1
Rustic Peak makes planning reflect real commitments more faithfully, expands the public data used by companion applications, and adds central software and backup oversight.
Planning and dashboard
- Conference attendance and trips, Teaching schedules, holidays and other dated commitments now feed Planning automatically, without double-counting repeated presentations at the same conference.
- The Annual timeline is now a navigable 12-month calendar, and overdue paper milestones are more visible from the Dashboard.
Public data and software
- Companion applications can use richer work, availability, Teaching-season and software data through the existing public interface, with private operational details kept out.
- Software Ecosystem provides one place to track maintained applications and tools, including versions, development stages, visibility and public links.
Backup operations
- A protected Backups view now shows backup health for Research Dashboard, Supervision Portal and Household Finances and allows authorised manual runs.
- Restore, decryption and retention remain separate from Research Dashboard and continue to be handled by the dedicated backup repository.
Reliability and maintenance
- Automated checks now cover the public data contract, consumer validation and backup integration more thoroughly.
- Release checks confirmed a clean production dependency audit and a full repository-history secret scan with no leaks found.
v1.0.0-rc.1 "Distant Forge"
Previous release candidate1 Oct 2026Changes since beta.5
Distant Forge makes Research Dashboard the administrative source behind the public academic website and CV tooling, while strengthening paper workflows, structured academic records, planning, and the public/private data boundary.
Papers and public website
- Moved public-website controls into each Paper workspace and retired the separate Website editing area.
- Added clearer publication metadata and public resources, including controlled publication index and language, Project and SI File links, preferred citations, Key highlights, and the latest stored Google Scholar citation snapshot.
- Reworked Paper workspaces around submissions, milestones, citations, projects and conference presentations, with new Reframing and VOR typesetting workflow states.
- Derived paper start dates from recorded research activity and simplified paper ordering around publication date, start date and recent updates.
Projects, conferences and teaching
- Added structured Projects with roles, funding information, dates, status, public visibility, linked publications and conference presentations, plus private project-hour tracking.
- Moved conference presentations into a dedicated Conferences area with date ranges, short event names, presentation-specific authors and the controlled types Conference paper, Keynote and Workshop.
- Added a Teaching Portfolio with academic levels, controlled teaching roles, cumulative teaching/student counts, public visibility and private activity tracking.
Planning and dashboard
- Made dated Paper milestones the source for new research-capacity planning, while keeping teaching, conference, holiday and administrative blocked time as manual planning items.
- Added FlowSavvy/Calendar tracking to milestone-backed research and blocked time, with compact actions for keeping calendar state up to date.
- Expanded Papers requiring attention to a top ten and added an Overdue milestones card that links directly to the oldest overdue paper.
- Simplified weekly workload reporting by removing redundant dashboard cards and showing net weekly time alongside gross workload.
Academic API and public data
- Added the public Academic API page at /api to explain the read-only academic data available to downstream applications.
- Documented Academic Website and Academic CV Studio as consumers while keeping private workflow, ownership and activity data unavailable to anonymous users.
- Added public work analytics for Activity over time, average net working time and average coffees per working day without exposing raw work sessions.
- Added automated compatibility checks so public fields, controlled values and privacy boundaries cannot drift silently.
Reliability and maintenance
- Improved linking between Dashboard accounts and bibliographic authors so existing and future author relationships stay in sync.
- Added permanent pull-request and main-branch verification covering lint, public API compatibility and the production build.
- Updated vulnerable development dependencies reported by npm audit and confirmed the audit, lint and production build are clean.
